About

Opellier

Lighting is usually the last decision. The sofa is chosen, the rug is laid, the walls are painted — and then, late in the process and with whatever budget is left, someone picks a fixture.

We started Opellier because we think that order is backwards. A room is defined by what lights it. Change the light and you change the proportions, the colour of the walls, the way an evening feels. Nothing else you put in a room does that.

Our story

Opellier is a lighting company, incorporated in Colorado in 2026 and based in Grand Junction.

We began with a narrow question: why is so much decorative lighting either disposable or unreachable? On one side sit fixtures built down to a price, shipped by the thousand, and replaced within a few years. On the other sit pieces so expensive they are only ever specified for showrooms and hotel lobbies. Very little occupied the space between — lighting drawn with real intent, made in materials worth naming, and priced so that an ordinary household could actually live with one.

That gap is where we work. We design and source sculptural lighting — chandeliers, pendants and wall sconces — for interiors meant to be lived in rather than photographed once and forgotten. Alabaster that warms when it is lit. Crystal cut to throw light rather than merely catch it. Ceramic and brass shaped with a point of view.

We are a young company, and we would rather say so than invent a heritage. What we can promise is the part that is entirely within our control: how carefully each piece is chosen, and how straightforwardly we deal with you.

What we believe

Light is a material, not a utility. An architect thinks about stone and timber long before the fittings. Light deserves the same order of attention — it is the one element that touches every surface in the room.

A fixture should earn its place twice. Once switched off, as an object worth looking at. Once switched on, by what it does to everything around it. A piece that only manages one of the two is decoration, not lighting.

Restraint outlasts ornament. The fastest way to date a room is to fill it with whatever is current. We look for pieces that will still make sense in the same room in fifteen years.

Our principles

1. Made to order. Each piece is prepared after you order it, which takes 7–10 business days before it ships. Nothing sits in a warehouse waiting to be marked down.

2. Materials we can name. We tell you what a piece is actually made of — alabaster, crystal, ceramic, brass — and we do not dress one material up as another. If we cannot describe it plainly, we do not sell it.

3. Prices that stay put. We do not inflate a price so that we can advertise a discount, and we do not run a permanent sitewide sale. The price you see is what the piece costs.

4. Reachable people. A real address, a working telephone number and stated hours, all published below. When you write to us, someone reads it and replies — usually within one to two business days.

5. An easy way back. You have 30 days from delivery to return a piece. If something arrives defective or damaged, we pay the return shipping and put it right. The full terms are in our Return & Refund Policy, written plainly and without traps.
